Ohtani, the most dominant hitter/pitcher in baseball since the great Babe Ruth, is a free agent this winter, having spent the entirety of his Major League Baseball career with the Los Angeles Angels. Ohtani's free agency has captivated American and Canadian sports, with fans tracking planes all over North America hoping for a hint of where Ohtani may land.
Toronto and Los Angeles are seen among the favorites, but McElhenney has joked that Ohtani should consider a team slightly off the beaten path: the mighty Wrexham!

"Note to Shohei Ohtani: January transfer window is just 22 days away and Welsh is a very easy language to learn," joked McElhenney on X, formerly known as Twitter, as he campaigned for the Japanese star to consider Wrexham.
